Founded in 1957, the Manipal Institute of Technology is reckoned for its academic excellence in engineering sciences, for shaping world-class engineers and as a center for research and specialized studies in engineering science. Known until 1974 as the Manipal Engineering College, the institute was among the first self-financed colleges of the country
The institute has always been tuned in to the practical problems and priorities world. And as a panacea, it aims at shaping engineers, whose number can be on par with their counterparts anywhere in the world. In almost 46 years of its existence, over 14,000 graduates and 700 post graduates have emerged from the portals of MIT Manipal. Some of them have gone on to make a mark for themselves in topnotch companies in India and abroad, while others have pursued academics in reputed universities in India, America and other countries.

| ELIGIBILITY |
Citizenship : Indian Nationals.
Date of birth : Only those whose date of birth falls on or before 31.12.90 are eligible to apply
Qualifications :Pass in 10+2, A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Computer Science or Biology or Engineering Drawing as optional subjects and a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects.

| ADMISSIONS |
General category: Admissions are done on the basis of rank in the all India Manipal University ONLINE Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET 07). Only candidates who have secured minimum 50% marks in UGET 07 will be considered for admissions.
NRI /Foreign category: Admissions under this category are handled by a separate office. Candidates desirous of applying under this category should CLICK HERE for more details.
Candidates can apply either under General or Foreign/NRI category. Those submitting under both the categories will not be considered for admission. Change of category at a later stage will not be entertained under any circumstances. The application material given along with this prospectus can only be used to apply for these courses under the General Category.

GROUP II: Applicable to BE course.
TEST PATTERN - The test duration is of 2.30 hours and consists of 240 multiple choice questions (MCQ) of the objective type. The question paper will be in English. The approximate distribution of questions is as follows: Physics - 60 questions, Chemistry - 60 questions, Mathematics - 80 questions, English & General Aptitude - 40 questions.

The online test will be held between 03.04.07 and 10.05.07. The candidates can select the test schedule of their choice.

| MERIT LIST |
Based on the marks obtained in UGET 07, Manipal University will declare the merit list of all candidates who have appeared for the entrance test for BE course. The merit lists will be displayed on 22.05.07 on the notice board of Manipal University and the website.
In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks, the inter-se merit of such candidates will be determined on the basis of higher marks in the order of preference as under:
- Mathematics in UGET 07
- Physics in UGET 07
- Chemistry in UGET 07
- PCB marks in 10+2
